Nursery Attendant
Job Description
PURPOSE: To provide safe and loving care for children ages 0 - 2 years old on Sunday mornings from 10 AM - Noon supported by volunteers.
DUTIES: The Nursery Attendant shall...
● Arrive promptly at 10am each Sunday to make sure the room is clean and safe for the arrival of children
● Warmly greet children and their parents
● Facilitate child checkin using secure policies
● Provide age appropriate care including feeding, changing diapers, holding, keeping them safe and cheerfully interacting with the children through games, stories and play
● Notify parents if child is upset or injured
● Make sure the room in clean at the end of the work shift: take out the garbage, wipe down tables, wash sippy cups and sanitize toys
● Promptly inform the Children, Youth and Family Director if unable to fulfill a prearranged obligation to work, so that a substitute may be obtained
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
● Must exhibit love of children
● Must have experience working with children 03 years old
● Must be able to work most Sundays in a yearround position (up to 6 Sundays off unpaid per year)
● Must be comfortable communicating with parents and volunteers
● Must pass the Washington State Background Check
● Must be Infant CPR certified or willing to obtain that certification at the church’s expense
● Prefer the applicant to be 20 years of age or older
HOURS: Two hours per week (Sundays 10am- Noon), Other hours on weeknights or weekends may be available, based on the congregation's need,
HOURLY/SALARY: Hourly
COMPENSATION: $12/hour depending on background and related experience
ACCOUNTABLE TO: The Pastor/Head of Staff and the Session of Trinity Presbyterian Church
SUPERVISOR: Trinity’s Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministry
