Conversations Around Race
Conversations Around Race is an on-going partnership between four Tacoma churches who are exploring our commonalities and differences through the eyes of the Gospel. Participating congregations are: Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church, Trinity Presbyterian Church, Peace Lutheran Church, and Church of the Indian Fellowship. A planning team of lay and clergy meet regularly to plan events and build community.
We are a member congregation of the Presbytery of Olympia, a regional body of Presbyterian Church (USA) congregations in Southwestern Washington. Olympia Presbytery exists to "to Glorify God through Christ Jesus by fostering missional congregations and a common mission that embodies the Kingdom of God."
We are glad to be an on-going partner with NLF's Urban Leaders in Training program. Over many years, Trinity and our neighborhood has been enriched by the presence of these young people who commit a year (or more) to serve in the city of Tacoma.
Trinity is thankful to be able to host the Youth for Christ - Middle School Sozo meetings each Tuesday night at 6 pm in Trinity's basement. Over 30 middle-schoolers gather for a meal and a meeting that reminds all once again of the love of Christ. For more information on the meetings, contact Doug Jonson of YFC-Tacoma.
