We are a member congregation of the Presbytery of Olympia, a regional body of Presbyterian Church (USA) congregations in Southwestern Washington. Olympia Presbytery exists to "to Glorify God through Christ Jesus by fostering missional congregations and a common mission that embodies the Kingdom of God."
Trinity has been a partner with Hagar's Community Church since it was started as a ministry of Olympia Presbytery in 2016. Hagar’s exists to give incarcerated individuals at the Washington Corrections Center for Women (in Gig Harbor) a safe Christian community through which they might explore their spirituality and encounter the proclamation and experience of God’s love. In 2022, Trinity began supporting Hagar's financially out of our Annual Ministry Fund.
Trinity is glad to be partnering with Underground Ministries in their One Parish, One Prisoner program. There are roughly the same amount of women and men in Washington state prisons as there are churches in Washington. What if every church became a local reentry team—a resurrection community—walking alongside just one neighbor leaving the tombs of incarceration? We are glad to be part of that movement - and have a team of Trinity people who are building a supportive connection with a friend before their release, and after.
Trinity is glad to be partnering with Retreat Home, a local network of people and homes offering support to those in need of temporary housing in our neighborhood. This support is temporary (usually between 3 weeks and 3 months), involves a social worker or case manager must be connected to the family and will place them into their next housing, and no money is exchanged, no rent, no services are “required” for housing.
Since 2020, Trinity has been recognized as an Earth Care Congregation by the Social Justice and Peacemaking Unit of the Presbyterian Church (USA). We believe God calls us to be careful, humble stewards of this earth, and to protect and restore it for its own sake, and for the future use and enjoyment of the human family.
