Lent 2021 for Trinity’s Children & Families

Hi Trinity Kids and Families,

This year, Lent and Easter mark one year of the Covid-19 Pandemic and one year of Zoom church. I feel really discouraged when I see our beautiful building and know we are unable to gather in it with each other safely. However, I feel encouraged each Sunday morning when you choose to turn the computer on one more time, and choose to enter into a relationship with your Christian community here at Trinity. That small bit of connection brings me great joy each week.

This year for Lent I want to invite and encourage kids and families to take one more step into relationship with each other. This year for Lent our children’s theme will be “Love and Laughter.”

We will explore the theme of Love and Laughter together as a Sunday School community by playing games, learning about our friends, and connecting with one another.

Lent is about sacrificing something in order to see God more deeply. This has been a year of great sacrifice. Let’s look at this season as sacrificing our loneliness and gaining our friendship.

God has gifted us with a community that can create and spread such joy, I hope we can cultivate that together this season.

Join me and other Sunday School friends at the same time on Sunday mornings at 9:30, but expect games, picnics, and stories as we connect as a community and share God’s joy with each other. Throughout the season of Lent there will also be activities to encourage you to connect with neighbors and friends along the way.

Especially to you kids—you are the fun creators! Help remind your parents to log you on Sunday mornings so we can see all our friends in one place together. You are what makes our community so special!

Do you have a favorite game or story book you want to share with your Trinity friends? Ask your parents to send me a message with the details.

Attached is a calendar of what to expect each Sunday so you can be prepared to join at your fullest.

In Love and Laughter,
