Amber Englund – AmeriCorps Staff – Community Support Coordinator

I’m back for my second year of AmeriCorps here at Trinity, working as the community liaison to Trinity’s services. I will continue to work with the development of the Tacoma Food Cooperative and community education around the Northwest Immigration Detention Center. In addition will be coordinating TAP and the volunteers this fall. My hope is to continue to meet with people from other congregations and organizations around the city as well to pursue further partnerships and network our neighborhood. I look forward to meeting more of you as the year progresses. Also, if you are ever in the need for some knee-slapping, roll over and fall to the ground laughter where you are gasping for air and transition into silent mode because it’s just that funny, then…you are more than welcome to join me in reading greeting cards at various locations around Tacoma.

Carmetrus Parker – AmeriCorps Staff – TAP Coordinator

I am a recent graduate of Pierce College-Fort Steilacoom. I was raised in the Sun flower state (Kansas) and born in the tiny town of Marion, Indiana. I am excited to be a member of the Trinity AmeriCorps team and look forward to a year of serving our community. I will be working with students at Bryant Montessori School as well as helping out with TAP. Reading, writing, and playing with my three cats, two kids, and one husband are my favorite past times. It is a blessing to be a part of such an awesome ministry.

Brian Kramer – AmeriCorps Staff – Trinity Learning Center

I just graduated from the University of Puget Sound this past May where I majored in Exercise Science. I plan to return to school to get my doctorate in either pediatric or sports physical therapy. During my year off from school, I am excited to spend my time working with AmeriCorps with the people from Trinity, as well as the students who come to the Learning Center. I’m looking forward to not only helping the students learn, but learning from them as well.

Lahlae Habibi – AmeriCorps Staff – Trinity Learning Center

I am a recent graduate of the University of Puget Sound. I majored in Exercise Science and plan to go on to graduate school for physical therapy, but decided to take a year and do something of significance. I am excited to be working for AmeriCorps at Trinity. My primary focus is the Trinity Learning Center which takes place in Trinity’s basement, and is where tutoring happens for Jason Lee Middle School and Bryant Montessori students. I would also like to get an outdoor “program” going within the congregation and in the community where we could go on day hikes and enjoy each other’s company and the Northwest’s natural beauty.
